A special discussion on World Labour Day will be telecast on May 1 (Saturday) at 9.00 pm on Verbum Television.
Rev. Jude Krishantha de Silva, Director of the Archdiocesan Centre for Mass Communication and Culture, Batagama, Rev. Lakpriya Nonis and Rev. Fr. Shelton Dias will feature in this programme entitled “Working People”


“People who are Struggling “ is a Catholic Church encyclopedia compiled by Father Leo XIII in 1891 and published on May 15 of that year. This encyclopedia, which will celebrate 130 years of publication on May 15, is considered to be the founding encyclopedia of the Catholic Church’s social teachings.


His Holiness Father Leo XIII’s 13th Amendment focuses on the problems of working people around the world and the payment of wages commensurate with their labour, as well as their rights to life.


The programme also includes discussions on the subject of the matters of workers’ right to life today.
