Donating of World War 11 medals to Army Museum

World War II Memorials of the late war veteran Shelton Kern, who passed away on 15/02/2022, were handed over to the Sri Lanka Army Artillery Regiment Museum at Panagoda recently.


“The medals were handed over because it was the wish of the family, and also because we understood the need for the preservation of those medals and by doing so it would help all generations to remember, interpret and understand the experience of war,” said members of the Kern family. 


They also thanked the Commandant of the artillery Regiment Maj. Gen..W.A.S.S Wanasinghe , Brigadier Sampath Fernando,  Lt Col Tissa Gunaratne and all the officers and staff of the Regiment for organising the handing over of the World War II memorials.
