Dr Sanath Lanerolle takes over as the new PSSL President

The ceremonial induction of Dr Sanath Lanerolle as the 20th president of the Perinatal Society of Sri Lanka was held at the Shangri La Ballroom at the Shangri La Hotel Colombo on the 19th of March 2021.

Shiranthi Wickremasinghe Rajapaksa was the chief guest with Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena and Dr Asela Gunawardena, Director General of health services. 

These distinguished guests added colour to this special occasion of the history of perinatal medicine in Sri Lanka. 
Many medical professionals attended this function with the patronage of members of Sri Lanka College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (SLCOG), College of Community Physicians Sri Lanka (CCPSL) and Sri Lanka College of Paediatricians (SLCP). 

Dr Sanath Lanerolle is a veteran in the medical sphere with over 30 years of experience and he was unanimously elected as the president of the PSSL. 

Further, he is the president-elect of SLCOG for the year 2022 and he is the immediate past president of the Menopause Society of Sri Lanka. 

Currently, he is serving as a Senior Consultant of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Castle Street Hospital for Women in Colombo.
