In Sri Lanka there are many children who are unable to purchase their needs for school

Oblate Mission chief Fr. Sriyan Ranasinghe is making a fervent appeal to help schools where its students are unable to continue with their studies due to lack of text books and proper clothes.

Fr. Ranasinghe says, “Today in Sri Lanka there are many children who are unable to purchase their needs for school as well as have uniforms for schooling. We are viewing this situation with sadness because we receive requests for help from all over the country.

“We would be most thankful if you could make a generous donation as early as possible to purchase these needs before the prices of goods escalate further. The needs of such schoolchildren alone cost over a million rupees,” said Fr. Ranasinghe.  According to Fr. Ranasinghe a request is made to those who will not be using their text books- which were meant for use next year-to give them away for charity. Such text books can be used for distribution. Even the offering of used uniforms and used shoes will be most welcome.
