A Hungarian Higher Education Fair, which was held recently for the first time in Sri Lanka, created a range of opportunities for local students to achieve their higher education goals.
The Hungarian Higher Education Fare, organized by Ronan Group of Sri Lanka /Hungary, was held from May 22 to 26 in Colombo.
Hungarian higher education has reached academic excellence for more than 650 years. The first university was founded in 1367 in Pécs, the Southern region of Hungary. We represent 25 higher education institutions in Hungary, ranging from minor universities of applied sciences to top research universities.
As a result of Hungarian institutions’ internationalization process, all students can find what fits their interests the best: some institutions offer more than 30 courses in English. The English language programmes are of a high standard and tuition fees are very favourable when compared to its competitors.
The range of study fields students can choose from is wide: Agricultural Science, Computer Science and Information Technology, Business Administration and Management, Legal Science, Economic Science, Medical and Health Science, Arts, Arts and Humanities, Arts Education, Engineering Science, Social Science, Teacher Training, Sport Science and Natural Science.
Ronan Group Kft leads its way under the direction of Chairman Rohan Nanayakkara, a well-known business personality in Sri Lanka and Hungary. The Ronan Group represents 25 leading universities in Hungary, which offer study programmes from Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral courses.

I have convinced many Hungarian institutions to start their ventures in Sri Lanka too,” Mr. Nanayakkara said.
