SLFUW Elects Council Members for 2024/2025

New Council members of the Sri Lanka Federation of University Women

The Sri Lanka Federation of University Women (SLFUW), one of the foremost and most prestigious organisations of professional women in the island, held its 83rd Annual General Meeting on Saturday, 23rd November 2024, at its Headquarters in Colombo. 

Apart from the attendees at the meeting, overseas members too joined in via Zoom from Japan, Australia, UK, and USA. Colonel Dr. Udula Krishnaratne was unanimously re-elected as President for 2024/2025.  The President of SLFUW summed up her address as follows: “It is my fervent wish that the SLFUW continues to grow in strength, both in Sri Lanka and overseas, and serve our motherland to make it a better and happier place to live in for all, irrespective of caste, creed, and ethnicity.”

SLFUW Executive Council members for 2024/2025 comprise: President: Colonel Dr. Udula Krishnaratne,  1st Vice President: Dr. Nirmali De Silva,  2nd Vice President: Engr. Lakmini Nonis,  CIR: Prof. Mahesha Kapurubandara,  Secretary: Rukmani Samaranayake,  Treasurer: Dharshini Perera, Press and Publicity Officer: Shyamini Balasuriya,  Assist. Secretary: Neliya Fernando and  Assist. Treasurer: Savitri Jayasooriya.  

The Council Members include Gnanakanthi Makalanda, Anjali Gamage, Indra Puvimanasinghe, Dr. Champa Codipilly, Kimiko Kayamori, Indira Samarasinghe, Nilupika Wijethunga, Rohini Dullewa, Nirmala Ekanayake, Samudrika Herath, Ariyamala Baduge, Devika Panagoda and Ramani Kariyawasam.
