Shankar’s International Children’s Competition-2020 Organized by High Commission of India

Themed under the title ‘Earth is the only home we have, treasure it’, the prestigious Shankar’s International Competition was hosted recently by the High Commission of India (Colombo), with more than 500 young participants taking part in the event. Issuing a statement, the High Commission of India (Colombo) stated that the competition provided young minds the opportunity to showcase their talents in terms of art works and essays in relation to the theme.   

“High Commissioner of India Taranjit Singh Sandhu, was the Chief Guest at the twentieth edition of the prestigious Shankar’s International Competition organized annually by the High Commission of India in Colombo at the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (formerly Indian Cultural Centre) on 23rd November 2019.  

Seeing the large turnout of more than 500 young artists from all over Sri Lanka, the High Commissioner complimented parents and teachers for encouraging children to take part in such events which help develop critical thinking and encourage children to explore new ideas and skills.
