‘Speaker In You’ programme focuses on improving public speaking and presentation skills of corporate executives and higher education students.

The ‘Speaker in You’ is a programme designed to assist corporate executives and higher education students in developing their public speaking and presentation skills, particularly in their respective settings. The next batch will begin on Wednesdays and Fridays, 26th and 28th May 2021. The sessions will run from 6 p.m. to 9.00 p.m., with some taking place via Zoom and others on-site.

This programme-will teach them how to deliver those enthralling speeches through a series of carefully selected lessons and speech projects.

Twelve three-hour sessions will be used to teach the skills. Each session will include instruction and practice in public speaking, as well as the opportunity to learn from other experienced speakers.

Additionally, this programme is designed to provide numerous opportunities for students to acquire and develop the skills necessary to be an effective and confident public speaker. It is structured around a series of twenty-four 20–30 minute lessons delivered by advisors on topics such as ‘Exhibiting confidence when speaking in public,’ ‘Visual elements of public speaking,’ and ‘Writing and presenting a proposal.’ Along with these sessions, there are additional activities that are more engaging and provide opportunities for hands-on learning. These include the seven prepared speeches delivered by the participants, classroom exercises, and speaker-advisor discussions.

To help you better understand what ‘Speaker in You’ is all about, two free introductory sessions will be held on Zoom on May 26th and 28th at 7 p.m. Please contact Dr. Prabath Karunanayake, Course Director, at 0776956701 or [email protected] for additional information.
