‘The Extra Mile’ presented to Army Commander

Senior medical practitioner who had served many years at war-torn areas saving lives, Dr.Gamini Goonetilleke recently handed over his latest book  ‘THE EXTRA MILE: A Surgeon’s Experiences’ to the Commander of Sri Lanka Army, Lt. General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP  at the Army Headquarters in Colombo.
A memento from the Sri Lanka Army was presented to Dr. Goonetilleke who had saved many lives in the battlefield, by the Commander in appreciation of his services to the military during the 30 – year armed conflict in Sri Lanka.
‘THE EXTRA MILE’ A Surgeon’s Experiences by Gamini Goonetilleke was officially launched on April 7 at the auditorium of the College of Surgeon’s at No 6, Independence Avenue, Colombo 07. 
“I am so glad with the response that I have received from my well-wishers and I want to thank each and everyone of you who encouraged me and inspired me to write this book and made it a reality,” Dr. Goonetilleke said speaking about his book launch.
