Green Building Council of Sri Lanka joined the exhibition held to mark World Health Day, organized by the World Health Organization - Sri Lanka, under the theme “Universal Health Coverage: Everyone, Everywhere”.
The GBCSL hosted an Art Competition, titled “yß; orefjda” to stir interest of the young minds and leverage child advocacy in the environmental conservation efforts towards sustainable development in the country. GBCSL as the country’s committed leadership in sustainability is obliged to build the necessary platform for the future leaders of the country recognizing the importance of preserving the environment.
The drawings done by the children shall be featured in the “Green Guardian”, the bi-monthly newsletter of the GBCSL and the winners will be recognized at the Annual Green Building Awards Ceremony. All the participants were gifted with a native plant to disseminate the “Green Velvet” campaign in an effort to contribute one million trees to extend the tree coverage in Sri Lanka.
GBCSL appreciates the efforts taken by the WHO – Sri Lanka, to bridge the technical gaps in the health sector, aiding Sri Lanka to align with United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.
