113th Annual General Meeting of Government Officers Benefit Association

The 113th Annual General Meeting of Government Officers Benefit Association (G.O.B.A) was held recently at the Auditorium of Royal College, Colombo.

Mr. Nihal Francisco was elected as the President of G.O.B.A. for the next year. D.S.P. Dunusinghe and N.M. Wijayratna were elected as Vice Presidents.

12 members were elected for the management committee. Over 12000 members including government pensioners represent this Association. Membership of GOBA has many facilities such as for loans, holiday homes and Dambadiva tours. According to the loan scheme, any member can obtain their loans within a one hour period. There are various types of loans such as festival, medical, furniture, spectacles and pension loans.
Each member who participated at this meeting was given Rs. 2000 for their expenses. (Deshabandu M.W. Thilakarathna)
