120 Covid-19 patients reported in Padukka

A total of 120 Covid-19 patients have been reported so far during the second wave in Padukka, Padukka Medical Officer of Health Dumithra Kahangama said.

Dr. Kahangama said 26 people out of 40, who were subjected to PCR tests following the death of a Covid-19 infected man , have been confirmed Covid positive by yesterday. He said PCR tests were conducted on fifteen more close contacts of the victim and that their reports were yet to come. The MOH said he had requested the authorities to take steps to lock down the Galagerada East Gramaniladari Division and that travel restrictions have been imposed in the area at present.
