3,238 kilos of Ganja seized, suspect arrested

A stock of 3,238 kilos of Ganja was seized and a suspect arrested by the Udawalawe STF during a raid in Rehenattagala hill in Koiyagala. Commanding Officer of the Udawalawe STF Camp IP N.L.Krishantha said the suspect was preparing to transport the stock to another area when the STF carried out the raid on a tip-off from the public.   
Under interrogation the suspect revealed that the trade value of the stock of Ganja was more than Rs.80 million. Investigations revealed that a businessman from Embilipitiya area was the prime mover behind the racket. The STF had initiated investigations to arrest him on information provided by the suspect already in custody.  
The stock of Ganja and the suspect were handed over to Ethimale Police for
further action.
