The CID has informed the court that it has not yet received the Attorney General’s (AG) instructions regarding the investigations into former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando and former IGP Pujith Jayasundara, who have been accused of failing to prevent a series of terrorist attacks on Easter Sunday.
When the case was taken up before Colombo Additional Magistrate Rajindra Jayasuriya the suspects Hemasiri Fernando and Pujith Jayasundara, who were released on bail also appeared in court for the hearing.
The CID informed the court that the investigation into the incident had been completed and relevant documents had been sent to the Attorney General’s Department.
The Additional Magistrate directed that the complaint be called on October 27 and directed that a reminder letter be sent to the AG with the instructions.
