The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) yesterday launched first-ever Island wide provincial mobile service to solve the complaints of the electricity consumers.
They said the mobile service was launched together with Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) and Lanka Electricity Company Private Limited (LECO) with the participation of more than 500 electricity consumers in Southern Province.
The Mobile Service will be held in all the nine provinces.
Addressing the event, the PUCSL requested to share the regulatory tools with the consumers who sought information.
“It is a concept of the President and the Prime Minister that public servants should go to the public and serve them. So, I invite the public to come and receive this service and get solutions for the issues you have” Somarathna Vidanapathirana, District Secretary of Galle District said. He said that the launching ceremony of Mobile Service in Southern Province was held in Hall De Galle on September 17,” they said.
According to the statistics of the Southern Province Mobile Service, about 500 complaints were received and solutions were provided to all the issues at the premises itself. Most of the complaints were about way leave, electricity supply to block-out (auctioned) lands, meter shifting, new connection and name changing of the electrical connections.
