Afternoon thundershowers likely from today

The weather conditions are becoming favourable for afternoon thundershowers across most parts of the island over the next few days, from tomorrow.   

Showers will occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western Provinces and in the Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.   

Thundershowers may occur at several places in the Eastern and Uva Provinces and in the Mullaitivu District during the evening or night.   

Strong winds upto 45 kmph can be expected at times over the western slopes of the central hills and in the Northern, North-Central and North-Western Provinces and in the Matale, Hambantota and Moneragala districts.
