Alleged phone calls to join UNP from SJB Madduma Bandara denies claims by Range Bandara

SJB General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara denied the claim made by former UNP MP Palitha Range Bandara who said that he has phone recordings of 23 Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) candidates who had expressed their willingness to rejoin UNP.   

“Mr. Range Bandara will have to cross over and join us soon,” he said.   

“His son in law is with us and Mr. Range Bandara has not been able to safeguard him,” he added.   
Mr. Madduma Bandara said it is UNPers who have begun to join SJB. “Former Minister Rohitha Bogollagama had who was in the UNP national list had withdrawn himself from the list while one UNP Wanni District candidate Ariyaratne Wickramasinghe had joined us,” he said.  

Mr. Wickramasinghe said he had decided to withdrawn his candidature and had joined Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) as he has been disillusioned with the UNP tactics. “I was given nominations from the Wanni District but I was disturbed as the district leadership was given to someone who had parachuted from Colombo,” he said.
