Businessman burnt to death, Morawewa Police recover body

 The body of an individual which had been burnt to death inside a cab was recovered by Morawewa Police on Sunday evening. The victim, Selliah Jeyaruban, 41, was a resident of Sampur in Muttur.   

Police had recovered the body during investigation of a complaint received from his wife Jeyaruban Shivaranjani that he left home to his business establishment at Eleswatta in Uppuveli on Thursday morning (12) but he did not return home in the evening.   Investigations revealed that two individuals who called over at the business establishment had abducted him after an altercation and assault over a cash transaction. Police said the suspects were identified and they are brothers.   

The Uppuveli Police are conducting further investigations to arrest the two suspects.
