China assure support to SL in combatting Covid-19 outbreak

Sri Lanka and China will expedite financial cooperation in the wake of the latest outbreak of COVID-19 in the country, a spokesman said.   

A spokesman of the Chinese embassy told Daily Mirror a loan arrangement with China Development Bank and a currency swap agreement between the Central bank of Sri Lanka and People’s Bank of China 
were underway.   

He said these matters would be expedited following the newest outbreak of COVID-19 hitting Sri Lanka. He said the fight against COVID-19 involved both health and financial components.   

“So, we will expedite our cooperation in this regard,” 
he said.
