Covid pandemic prevents Lawyers appearing in cases

Lawyers of the  Bar Association in  Kalutara  decided to  refrain from appearing in cases in view of the prevailing threat of  COVID-19  pandemic.   

President of the Kalutara Bar Association Dickson Punchihewa said a litigant who called over in the courts complex had been tested Corona positive and that it  had compelled the Bar Association to decide on suspending appearances to prevent any possible danger to the Lawyers, the Judges, the court staff in the courts complex including the litigants.  

He said the Bar Association’s decision was informed to the Magistrates, the Judges and the relevant officials.
