Crocodile trapped from Menik Ganga

A 6 ft crocodile was caught with  a trap placed in the Menikganga in Kataragama by wildlife officers and the police life guard was releases to a lake in Yala national park yesterday.   Wildlife Department and the police had taken steps to capture crocodiles in the Menikganga in the wake of a pilgrim who fell  prey to a crocodile while having a bath.

Meanwhile the security forces, on the request of Chief Incumbent of Kirivehera Rajamaha Vihara had taken steps to provide protection to the bathing places in the river.
