Electricity tariff reductions to be effected from July 16

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) contemplates electricity tariff reduction starting from July 16 according to an informed source.   

Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission Manjula Fernando said the final decision on tariff reduction will be announced on July 15. The Commission will have public consultations on price reductions from July 15.   

The source said there will be a substantial reduction of prices.
