Establishing investigation unit to monitor Grama Niladharies

Minister of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government Janaka Bandara Tennekoon has decided to establish a special investigations unit to check the efficiency of Grama Seva Niladharies while carrying out duties entrusted to them. The Minister said that he has decided to establish a Special Investigation Unit due to receiving of complaints by the public against some Grama Seva Niladaries who are not staying in their Offices, ignoring some problems which can be given simple solutions, neglecting some problems saying that it is outside their jurisdiction, to be biased and some Grama seva Niladharies are not taking proper steps to fulfill their duties.   

The target of this programme is to increase the efficiency of the  Grama Seva Niladhari who is the closest Officer to the people.
