Father arrested for inflicting grievous hurt to 12-year old daughter

An individual who caused grievous hurt to his 12-year old daughter by burning her face was arrested yesterday by Liyangahawela Police in Bandarawela.  

The 40 year old suspect of Ambadandegama in Bandarawela is a father of two children. Investigations revealed that the suspect had assaulted her and burnt her face. Her mother had been away from home to work in a tea factory.   

The principal of the school who noticed the burn injury on her face and inquired about it, informed police. During investigations the police arrested the suspect and admitted the girl to Diyathalawa hospital.   

The suspect was to be produced before Bandarawela magistrate,
