Finland, which has the world best education systems in the world will support new education reforms in Sri Lanka, the National Institute of Education (NIE) said.
Accordingly, a workshop on ‘How to apply and use the Finland Education Systems into Sri Lankan Education’ was held at NIE Auditorium, Maharagama on Monday.
The workshop mainly focuses to guide the Sri Lankan educationists, curriculum developers, and respective officers on proposed educational reforms and how to apply Finland’s education systems which are known as the world’s best education systems.
The 3-day workshop is being held with the participation of NIE, Examinations Department, Publications Department officials, educationists etc. The delegation is headed by Prof. Leena Krokfors, Vice Dean Faculty of Educational Sciences, University of Helsinki, Finland.
Speaking at the workshop, Dr. Sunil Jayantha Nawarathne, Director General of NIE, stated that, according to the Presidents’ Vision for the future manifesto, we are on the right path to redefine our education system, develop the human potential, alter education training, improve STEAM education, Lifelong learning models, International Consciousness, make school as a market place, change higher education, etc.
Officials from the Education Ministry, Examination Department, and stakeholders of the education reforms were present.
