Former national cricket team member’s house burgled

Former Sri Lankan cricketer of the national team Sachithra Senanayake’s house at Kalalgoda, Pannipitiya had been burgled and a host of property including costly wristwatches, jewellery items, laptop computers and cash had been taken away.

Police said the thieves had entered the house by breaking open a window in the ground floor and left the house taking away the stolen goods, through the main front door.

A senior police official said the thieves had dismantled the CCTV camera system in the house and taken away the memory storage, and that the police initiated investigations based on the CCTV recordings in the adjacent houses and in the surrounding area. Thalangama Police are conducting investigations.
