Four suspects with 1.02 Kilos of Ice arrested at Angulana

A stock of 1.02 kilos of the illegal intoxicant called ICE was seized and four suspects including an employee of the Trincomalee harbor were arrested by the Moratuwa police during a raid at Angulana junction.  

The police had carried out the raid on intelligence received from the Western Division Intelligence Unit. .  
Under interrogation the suspects stated that the trade value of the stock was about Rs.10.4 million. The suspects were transporting the stock of drugs in a luxury car when the police arrested them.   

Investigations revealed that the suspects had reserved two rooms in separate hotels at Wellawatta to carry out the racket and that they lodged in one room and hid the stock of ICE.in the other.   

Police said the main suspect who had been a wealthy businessman engaging in the garment trade had lost his wealth gambling in casino’s. Investigations revealed that the suspects were drug addicts.and of 23.,29,.47,and .46 years of age. One of them was from Panadura and the others from Trincomalee.  

The suspects were to be produced before Moratuwa magistrate yesterday. 

 
A police team under OIC Anti –Vice Branch SI Nandana Pushpakumara carried out the raid on the instructions of HQI Moratuwa Police CI Pushpakumara Ferdinando and SSP Mt.Lavinia Division Mangala Dehideniya.
