The Government’s development programme which was not debilitated even during the fight against separatist terrorism would not be weakened by the Covid-19 pandemic, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa said.
The Government has imported the medicine needed to eliminate this virus, but the opposition says that the vaccines imported to control the pandemic are substandard and not suitable to administer on Sri Lankans. Their modus operandi is to show a non-existent malaise and drag the country into a pit. Those who pulled our leg during the conflict do the same now as well, Prime Minister Rajapaksa added.
Addressing a ceremony held at Kongaha junction at Yapahuwa in Irudeniya to mark the launching of the irrigation scheme ‘Maha Ela Project’, Mr. Rajapaksa said the government expects to construct more water supply projects, schools, employment generation schemes and develop the transport and the road network in Wayamba.
