Killed at drinking party

An altercation between two individuals during a drinking party at Nagawila in Pallama on Sunday evening (20) had resulted in one of them being stabbed to death with an iron spike. A group of four individuals had felled trees in a private land in Nagavila area for firewood and after selling them had consumed liquor. 


Investigations revealed that two of them had an altercation under the influence of liquor and that one had stabbed the other with an iron spike piecing his neck. The owner of the land had been away to  bring in more liquor. 
The victim Kandawalge Chanaka Jayanath Perera (38), a resident of Nagawila area had died at the scene. Police said the main suspect wanted in connection with the killing had fled from the area.


However, the owner of the house and another were taken in for questioning by Pallama police


Anamaduwa Magistrate was scheduled to visit the scene and hold the preliminary magisterial  inquiry yesterday afternoon.


Pallama police are conducting further investigations.
