Parliamentarian Rauff Hakeem was unanimously re-elected as the leader of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress, on Saturday (22) at its 31st National Delegates Conference, held at Hizbullah Cultural Hall, Kattankudy, with the participation of over 1,500 delegates who had come from all the districts of the island.
At the inaugural session in the morning, re-elected leader Hakeem also read out the names of 33 office bearers who were elected on the previous day (21) evening in the Mandatory High Command meeting held in Eravur.
Accordingly, Nizam Kariapper PC, has been re-elected as the Secretary while seven Deputy leaders including former Governor of the Eastern Province M.L.A.M. Hizbullah and Ali Zahir Moulana MP. Abdul Majeed and Rahmath Munsoor were elected as Chairman and Treasurer respectively. Names of the 33 Office bearers were announced.
