The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) is to increase the number of trains and buses, as the public servants in full capacity will be reporting for duty from this week and also to facilitate the school children after reopening of schools. SLTB Deputy General Manager Panduka Swarnahansa said that they are hoping to augment 5,200 buses to the existing fleet.
Currently, about 4,200 buses are being operated and several buses are under repair. The restoring process of buses has been streamlined and the 5,200 buses will be assigned in due course, he said.
