Motorcyclist stabbed to death during argument at fuel queue in Nittambuwa

The incident had taken place when the three-wheel driver tried to get fuel before the motorcyclist who was in the queue
The deceased was a 29-year-old resident of Colombo 14
Police said the 38-year-old suspect is a resident of Panawala, Nittambuwa

A 29-year old motorcyclist was stabbed to death by a three-wheel driver following an argument at a fuel station in Horagolla, Nittambuwa on Sunday night, Police said.   


They said a dispute between a motorcyclist and a three-wheel driver who had come to get fuel at the Horagolla petrol station had led to the stabbing. Police investigations have revealed that the incident had taken place when the three-wheel driver tried to get fuel before the motorcyclist who was in the queue.   


The driver of the three-wheeler was waiting outside the fuel station after pumping fuel for the motorcyclist who had got into an argument, stabbed the latter when he came after pumping petrol. The three-wheeler driver fled after the attack. The victim was admitted to the Wathupitiwala Hospital and later succumbed to his injuries. The deceased was a 29-year-old resident of Colombo 14.   


The suspect was arrested by the Nittambuwa Police yesterday in the Nittambuwa area following investigations into the incident. Police said the 38-year-old suspect is a resident of Panawala, Nittambuwa and is to be produced before the Attanagalla Magistrate’s Court.
