Claiming that only a Rajapaksa government would know the service rendered by the war heroes, SLPP presidential candidate Namal Rajapaksa said yesterday only a future Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) government would protect the dignity of the Armed Forces.
Speaking at a rally in Galgamuwa, he said steps would be taken to ensure welfare facilities and resolve issues regarding their pensions.
“Some people are trying to insult war heroes and Buddhist clergy. It is a trend today. It is an organized attack,” he said.
Rajapaksa said SLPP government will follow the agricultural policy of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa.
“I will follow the agriculture policy of Mahinda Rajapaksa. We will provide fertilizer subsidiary and new technology for young farmers,” he said.
Rajapaksa said some parties have prepared their policy manifesto to win the election. “We will promise only plausible things,” he said.
