New Zealand MPs visit Gangaramaya

A high-level cross-party delegation of New Zealand MPs, including Rt. Gerry Brownlee MP, Speaker of the New Zealand House of Representatives, paid an official visit to the Gangaramaya Temple yesterday morning. They are in the country on a three-day official visit, emphasizing New Zealand’s increasing focus on South Asia and Sri Lanka as a priority region. The visit highlights New Zealand’s commitment to strengthening relations with Sri Lanka, particularly through opportunities to boost trade, tourism and people-to-people and sporting links. The New Zealand High Commission stated that these visits are a key part of their inter-parliamentary relations programme, aimed at enhancing parliamentary ties and fostering people-to-people connections.
