One killed three others injured in Santhiveli accident

One person died and three others sustained serious injuries when a mini lorry and a three- wheeler collided head on   at Santhiveli in Eravur, Batticaloa yesterday morning.
 The three injured people were admitted to the emergency unit of the Batticaloa Teaching Hospital.   

The accident occurred when a trishaw going towards Kiran from Batticaloa collided head-on with a mini lorry travelling towards Batticaloa from Combo,
said the Police.   

One person out of the four passengers travelling in the trishaw identified as Rangan Ramaswamy (71) from Lunugala Badulla died on the spot and his body had been kept in Santhiveli Divisional Hospital. 

Meanwhile, the lorry driver in connection with the accident had been arrested by the Eravur Police who were conducting further investigations.
