Parents of year five scholarship students stage protest

 A group of parents whose children sat the year five scholarship examination held recently staged a protest in front of the North Central Province Education Department against the Examination Department’s decision to exclude only the answers for three questions in the first question paper, that leaked out.   

 They compelled the authorities to interdict the teachers involved and to take legal action against them. The protestors said t the colossal expenditure to prepare their children for an examination and the tiresome studies of the children for several years would be in vain if any question paper would be available for Rs. 2500 prior to the examination.    They pointed out that leaking of question papers in public examination has been going on unchecked without any action being taken against teachers involved.   

 However they dispersed when the Director of Education, (NCP) , S.M.W.Samarakoon met them and informed that he reported the incident to the Ministry of Education to take legal action against the teachers involved.
