People’s Struggle ensures women’s rights

People’s Struggle which wound up its campaign for the Presidential Election pledged to uphold women’s rights.    The party activist Sureka Samarasena said women need much more than a nutrition package.   

“Those who reside in Mars does not understand the real needs of the people. They think the women only need a nutrition package. They think women are child producing machines,” she said.   

“Don’t women have the right to engage in politics? None of the main candidates have mentioned how they are going to ensure women’s rights in their manifestos.
