Pilleyan further remanded

Former Eastern Province Chief Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias Pilleyan has been further remanded till February 6 by the Batticaloa Magistrate’s Court yesterday. 

Pilleyan and four suspects allegedly involved in the murder of Batticaloa District TNA parliamentarian Joseph Pararajasingam were arrested on October 11, 2015 and have been in remand custody since then.  

Pararajasingam was shot dead on December 25, 2005 during a festive mass.
