Police Sergeant injured in collision with elephant

A police sergeant riding a motorcycle had bumped against a wild elephant moving across the road near Mahakanadarawa tank last morning and received serious injuries.   

Police said the 54 year old sergeant of Anuradhapura Udamaluwa Police was a resident of Panawewa in Sippukulama. He was on his way to report for duty last morning when he met with the accident.   

Mihintale Police said they admitted the injured to Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital.
