Rape of underaged mentally retarded girl PS member and five suspects wanted by Police

A member of the Thanamalwila Pradeshiya Sabha and five others have been wanted by the Sevanagala Police in connection with the rape of a 13-year-old mentally retarded girl.  

A senior police official said two of the suspects had been arrested but the PS member and others had fled from the area. He said the suspects had raped the girl from Kiriwewa area at intervals for more than three months and she was admitted to the Hambantota General Hospital for medical examination and treatment.  

Sevanagala Police are conducting further investigations on the instructions of Embilipitiya ASP Sarath Kumara, DIG Sandungahawatta and Senior DIG Lalith Pathinayaka
