Remanded for assaulting his mother

A young man who assaulted his mother demanding the possession of house and property and locked her out forcing her to spend the night in the jungle was remanded till November 07 by Maho Acting Magistrate Udaya Rajapakse.  

The suspect W.A.Senaka Sampath was a resident of Medaulpotha In Polpithigama. Police said the victim had informed them that her son had assaulted her and driven  her away from her house. They stated that the officers had visited her house and arrested her son who was the only occupant of the house at the time. The suspect had also destroyed a shrine worshipped by his mother and disconnected the power supply. The magistrate ordered police to carry out further investigations and to submit the progress report on November 07. OIC Polpithigama Police A.A.P.A.Kulatunga is conducting investigations.
