With the discovery of returnees from Italy staying in forty houses in Kotte, the Kotte Chief Medical Officer of Health Manoj Rodrigo had taken steps to have them undergo self-quarantine inside these houses after disinfecting the houses.  On the instructions of the Mayor of Kotte Madura Vithanage and under the supervision of the Public Health Inspectors this programme was carried out. On information being received about visitors from abroad who had not gone through the process of quarantine at the Airport, the police had acted swiftly and set up this self-quarantine procedure in the houses which they had occupied. These visitors included both foreigners and Sri Lankans who had returned from Italy, UK, France, Korea and the Middle East.
One person among the visitors who was detected as having a flu was dispatched to the National Hospital to ascertain whether he is infected with the Coronavirus.
