The Finance Ministry sought Cabinet approval to pay Rs.492.5 million to a private firm as advertisement cost of the government’s much hyped ‘Enterprise Sri Lanka and Gam Peraliya’ programme in 2019, Daily Mirror learns.
Subject Minister Mangala Samaraweera presented the Cabinet paper seeking money to be allocated from the Consolidated Fund for this purpose. Accordingly, the approval has been given to pay such a large amount of money to a company.
In the Cabinet memorandum, the Ministry said the government introduced concessionary loan schemes and other financial facilities under Enterprise Sri Lanka.
This company has been chosen to carry out its promotional and advertisement activities of the programmes.
