Russian woman under quarantine

A female Russian tourist who had been staying in a lodge in Gothamipura in Kataragama was placed under 14 days quarantine in the lodge by the health authorities yesterday.   


Her tour guide and the owner of the lodge were ordered to be under quarantine for 14 days in the lodge.   
Administrative Public Health Inspector Saman Dissanayake said the female tourist had arrived in the country last February and visited several areas and had been associated with several individuals.   


The PHI said 132 individuals including foreigners, the staffs of tourist hotels and visitors to the area had been under quarantine and 70 of them released by yesterday. 

 
Administrative PHI Saman Disanayake, area PHIs K. G. Dilan Buddhika and Thakshila Madushan are continuing inspections.
