SJB Nawalapitiya electoral organizer arrested

• Police had arrested him during investigations of a complaint that he assaulted the nurse accusing her of supporting the National People’s Force (NPP)

Nawalapitiya Samagi Jana Balawegaya electoral organizer Sasanka Sanjeewa was arrested and produced before Nawalapitiya Magistrate Lanasgi Ratnayake in connection with the alleged assault on a nursing officer of Nawalapitiya General Hospital on September 21.   

He was severely reprimanded and released on personal bail of Rs.200,000.   

Police had arrested him during investigations of a complaint that he assaulted the nurse accusing her of supporting the National People’s Force (NPP).   

OIC Nawalapitiya Police CI Harendra Kalugampitiya said the magistrate ordered police to investigate the complaint of the suspect SJB electoral organizer that the nurse scolded and threatened him.   

The case was postponed for October 28.
