SJB formed to build a strong force, new brand : Harsha

The only alternative left for those UNPers who wanted to build a strong force with a new brand was to form Samagi Jana Balawegaya ( SJB), former MP Harsha de Silva said yesterday.   
De Silva said Sajith Premadasa is the brand which SJB will promote in the election campaign. “We will go along with the brand Premadasa. We tried the maximum to get this new brand for the UNP but had to form SJB as no positive response came from the UNP for it,” he said.   

“However there is still hope for unification and we invite UNPers once again,” he added while highlighting that those in SJB are UNPers as well.   

Asked as to why one group in the UNP is contesting the General Election under the elephant symbol and the other from the telephone symbol, the former MP said the division will be visible if both groups fail to reach an agreement before the nominations are closed,” he also said.   

He said those UNPers who formed SJB do not enjoy any special kind of pleasure to separate from the UNP.
