SJB to file legal action against the gazette vesting coastal land under the UDA

SJB is to file legal action against the gazette notification under which all lands in the coastal belt from Wattala to Negombo are vested under the UDA,  Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa said yesterday.  Premadasa came up with this information after meeting Archbishop of Colombo Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith at Bishops House last morning.

We have decided to launch a struggle against the take over of lands by the UDA. We are with the Çatholics and others in the area. We have instructed MP Kavinda Jayawardena to handle the issue. 

“ SJB is also committed to finding out the truth with regard to Easter Sunday attacks and to find out the nature of politics behind the attack” he added. 

Mr. Premadasa said the Easter Sunday attack and the land issue were the main focus of his meeting with the Cardinal.
