The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) has decided to expel former MP Vijith Wijayamuni Zoysa and several local government members from the party, SLFP media spokesman Weerakumara Dissanayake said. He said the decision was taken at the Central Working Committee which was convened yesterday. Meanwhile, former MP de Soysa recently said the SLFP should join the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) led by UNP deputy leader Sajith Premadasa. “We informed the SLFP that it will be sidelined by the SLPP. We know the Rajapaksa’s. We are from Wellassa which is adjoining Giruwapaththuwa. There is no need for the SLFP to be with the SLPP. We are happy to contest with SJB,” he told journalists following the opening ceremony of the SJB headquarters. Moreover, the SLFP had decided to expel A. H. M. Fowzie from the party.
