The group of former electoral organisers of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) who opposed their party contesting the forthcoming General Election in coalition with Sri Lanka Podu Jana Peramuna (SLPP) are to support the Samagi Jana Balavegaya (SJB) led by former Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa as two groups.

One group supports the SJB as the Organisation for the Protection of Sri Lanka Freedom Party while another group has joined the former minister Kumara Welgama who recently formed the New Sri Lanka Freedom Party.

Former Provincial Councillor of Southern Provincial Council and the General Secretary of the Organisation for the Protection of Sri Lanka Freedom Party, Amarasiri Kuruwage said that they have already discussed with Sajith Premadasa about the future political affairs of their party.

Mr. Kuruwage further said that there are over 20 former SLFP Electoral Organisers who have joined with the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Protection Organisation.
