Several foreigners arrested Global online scam operating in Sri Lanka busted

Police have busted a global online scam operating in Sri Lanka and have arrested 33 people including locals and foreigners.  Foreigners from Pakistan, Nepal, Indonesia, Malaysia and Bangaladesh were among those arrested. The suspects had carried on a game where winners had been offered money.   

Equipment including laptops have been recovered by the police. Police advised the public to avoid  becoming victims of online scams .
